The first visit begins with a comprehensive examination which includes cavity detection x-rays, an oral cancer screening, periodontal examination and examination for areas of decay or dental-related disease.
We reserve an hour for your initial visit.
Follow Up Visits
How often do I need to come back to see the dentist?
Each patient varies. Typically we see patients every six months for a cleaning and examination. Sometimes, more frequent visits are necessary to maintain dental health.
Deep Cleaning
Why do you sometimes need to clean below the gumline?
A deep cleaning goes below the gumline to the root surface where the bacteria has been forming. This helps you avoid infection resulting in bleeding gums, bad breath and tooth loss. This can involve one to four visits.
Dental Emergency
What if I break a tooth or have an urgent dental matter?
We always have a doctor on call for our patients. Simply call the office number and you will be directed to the doctor on call.
New Pediatric Patient
We believe your child deserves a healthy, happy smile. We are dedicated to providing gentle, compassionate dental care in a fun, comfortable environment that will help your little ones feel at ease. From their first visit to their routine check-ups, we ensure each experience is positive and stress-free.
We Love Kids
Do you take children as patients?
We believe good dental care begins in early childhood. We want to set them up for a lifetime of great smiles and healthy teeth. We are happy to see younger children if there is a concern of infection or decay or if they have experienced a dental accident.
When to Start
What is the appropriate age for the first visit?
We start to see children at 3 years old. By that time, a child should have 10 teeth on top and 10 teeth on bottom. Tooth decay can occur as soon as the child’s first tooth has erupted, so you should begin brushing with a fluoride-free toothpaste.
First Examination
What is involved with the initial examination?
Depending on the child, this will consist of an introduction to the dental office. We provide a "ride" in the chair and a visual examination of the teeth. In some cases, we will clean the teeth and apply a fluoride treatment.
A Positive Experience
What if my child is anxious about the visit?
We recommend you schedule a morning appointment when your child is most rested and cooperative. We do not recommend bribing a child to visit the dentist. Also, please never use the visit as a threat or punishment. You should stay positive with your child and make the visit an enjoyable outing.
Emergencies
What if my child breaks a tooth?
Try to stay calm and call us immediately for an emergency visit.
